Safety is our priority . Safety is your responsibility.

Tongariro Quads uphold a reputation for safety standards and professionalism. We put safety at the forefront of our operation. Our guides are fully trained in ATV guiding and have also completed first aid training. Our guides are experienced in guiding the very nervous and never ridden client through to the experienced and more confident riders.

Tongariro Quads gives a full safety briefing before your ride commences. This covers instructions and tuition on how to ride your quad bike, as well as what you can expect on your ride. There is also help and additional briefing on the ride as required.

No experience is needed. However it is expected that you ride safely and within your ability. Tongariro Quads expects that you ride in control at your own safe speed as well as to the conditions at all times. Always expecting the unexpected and having time to Stop Safely. The lead instructor does not set your riding speed and our quad bikes are not governed.

We put the more experienced riders out behind the lead guide and slower riders follow, we do this so everyone is able to ride to their own ability without pressure. The more time you spend riding the quad bike the easier and more fun it becomes.

We give you the freedom to ride at your own safe speed within your ability and to conditions.

Your guides have the experience, knowledge and skills to give people of all abilities the quad riding technique they need to use and the freedom to use it to enjoy a safe ride in this wonderful unique area.

Respect gets respect and makes for the most enjoyable riding time.

Our guides also carry a GPS and Epirb for additional levels of safety if it is required.
